Gene Kogan
1989-present
Gene Kogan has been a pioneer in AI art since 2015, following deepdream, char-rnn, and style transfer. He became known for his 'machine learning for artists' workshops, spending thousands of hours teaching generative AI techniques. Gene achieved many firsts in AI art: GAN art, AI video generation, and interactive AI installations like the 'AI mirror.' He is the creator of Abraham, the artificial artist, and co-founder of Eden, an open-source platform for building autonomous creative agents. Abraham was conceived on a flight from Eyeo Festival in June 2017, when Gene was reading about Ethereum and daydreaming about connecting crypto ideas to artificial minds.
